Lydia van Bredevoort is a young sorceress, a painter and archeologist. She became an assistant to Vilgefortz of Roggeveen, and fell in love with him. Four years pior to the events of Thanedd, Lydia studied an elven anathema with her research team but it exploded, killing her colleagues and leaving her with a disfigured face she hides behind a masterful illusion.she's proud, beautiful and smart, like most sorceresses, but she has a special trait. her eyes: while most sorceresses own dark, sad eyes, hers are bright and full of expression. she's a skilled artist and a master illusionist. Due to her accident, that took away most of her lower face and larynx, she can only speak through telepathy.

ㅤTHE WRONGED FACE:ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ MAIN VERSE. ㅤ ——— ㅤ even after the explosion of the elven anathema that disfigured her face and left her unable to speak out loud, lydia still carries her duties as an assistant, researcher, and a painter. she communicates with mages through telepathy, but she's rarely seen without Vilgefortz by her side. she conceals the result of the accident with a masterful illusion not even Tissaia can see through.ㅤTHE ASSISTANT :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ PRE ACCIDENT VERSE ㅤ ——— ㅤ the years spent under vilgefortz's wing, as his assistant, before the explosion of the elven anathema. besides her work as an assistant, lydia continues to research and paint. she's devoted to vilgefortz's cause, and helps him with the investigation. she's helplessly in love with him, but keeps her feelings to herself because of her pride and devotion.ㅤTHE EXPERIMENT :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ RESURRECTION AU. ㅤ ——— ㅤ the dagger she used to stab herself, a gift from philippa eilhart, contained ancient elven magic alike the figurines used for compression. it trapped lydia's soul inside, and after years of research, philippa managed to return her soul to a brand new body made of her own remains. lydia cannot perform magic, for the body she inhabits is frail and weak, a failed experiment.ㅤTHE SECRETARY :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ MODERN AU. ㅤ ——— ㅤ secretary to the kingpin vilgefortz of roggeveen. lydia is an archeology student and during an excavation she suffered an accident that destroyed half her face. through reconstruction surgery she got her face to appear normal, but she lost her voice forever. she still studies archeology and paints, both activities supported by her boss. she usually communicates with her phone.ㅤOF ARETUZA :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ PRE VILGEFORTZ VERSE. ㅤ ——— ㅤ her time as a student of aretuza, as a sorceress pupil, and at oxenfurt, as a fine arts student. since the beginning, lydia showed no particular talent with her spells, but a very keen eye for theory, curses, and illusions. seasoned mages asked for her help during researches and investigations. she often works with them in excavations and does field work.
